Hello, my name is Katta Spiel.
Currently I’m a PhD student at OutsideTheBox, a research project at the TU Vienna. There I investigate experiences of children with autism in technological contexts. (Seriously, check out the web page, the project is really amazing.)
I have previously been studying the master’s programme Computer Science and Media at the Bauhaus-University of Weimar. Before that, I graduated in Media Culture (B.A.) and Media Systems (B.Sc.). I like to look curiously into things and talk about them. If you want to know more about the official and academic side of my life and what I’ve done there, have a look at my CV.
I also like to do crafts like crocheting and knitting and basically all kinds of things, but mostly those two. In my free time, I also am learning to use my butt to hit other people (a.k.a. Roller Derby).
And last but not least, I’m a former member of the City Council of Weimar (2009-2014) and former member of the national executive committee of the German Young Greens (2007/2008).
This will maybe be the two things you’ll find here. Mixed up research, curious articles, bits and pieces of interesting calculations and… craft work! (sometimes politics)
I’m also happy to answer questions about anything. Just ask.
